Broadsides like this one were distributed all over the Prairies of Canada.
There was a series of at least four broadsides that promoted immigrant homesteaders into the Prairies. They offered:
- 160 acres for $10.00.
- A second 160 acres (320 contiguous acres) for an additional $10.00.
- 160 acres free to any newcomer immigrant from England.
- 160 acres free to anyone. This last broadside was meant to fill in empty areas, probably in less than ideal locations; for example, lacking easy access to water and timber.
