Today the original Motherhouse of the Sisters of Charity of Quebec houses over 300 religious sisters who have been displaced by diminishing religious communities and sold properties. There are about 5 different religious organizations of women living there. With the current Canadian government policy of converting all Catholic properties into generic buildings, Quebec as a province is losing its historic, cultural and religious identity.
