Delphis Poulin’s Letter

 

This letter was written by Delphis Poulin, one of Nazaire’s sons. It was written when Delphis was advanced in years.

Delphis could not spell. He did, however, known his letters. This letter is written phonetically and with no punctuation, so it’s not easy to understand where one thought starts and end. It reads:

… to throw our breakfast in the toilet. My father (Nazaire) left with his brother (Raoul) to search for gold in the Klondike in Alaska, returned about three years later.

to take us out of the orphanage, very happy to be free and in fresh air under the heavens but this did not last long.
