BALBRIGGANS HOLD MORE THAN FAMILY JEWELS

  • by

In a scene from my newly released novel, the long shot, miners leaving the Yukon with a wad of cash from the sale of their gold dust ask, “How do we protect our money?"

The answer?

“Change some of your cash to larger denominations, so it’s less bulk to carry. Buy fresh balbriggans; you only need the bottoms. See Mrs. Blondine on Third Street. She’ll sew hidden pockets in them so’s they hide the bulk of your cash. Don’t have her sew up all your money. You’ll need some for transport and food until you get home."
